Numbered Workspaces

Numbered workspaces are made as needed:

• At least one workspace exists on each display at all times
• A workspace is made automatically when you move a window to it
• An empty workspace is removed, but only after you switch away. A workspace does not disappear when its last window closes.
• Switch workspaces with Hyper+1 through Hyper+9, or step through them one at a time with Hyper+' / Hyper+/

Named Workspaces PRO

Persistent workspaces with custom names. The workspaces stay even when they are empty.

Presence Modes

Display Assignment

Pin a workspace to specific monitors:

• By name: ["DELL U2720Q"] matches the display name
• By keyword: ["primary"] matches the primary display
• By index: [0] matches the display at that index
• Multiple: The workspace appears on all the displays in the list

If you do not specify a display, the workspace appears on all displays.

Renaming

When you rename a named workspace in Settings, the window rules that reference the old name are updated automatically. They now use the new name. This prevents rules from breaking after a rename.

Each named workspace can have its own shortcuts:

Coupled Workspaces PRO

Span one workspace across all displays. When you switch workspaces, all screens change at the same time:

When the workspaces are coupled, Hyper+2 switches all displays to workspace 2. Named workspaces also sync. If a named workspace does not exist on another display, it is made there automatically. Relative stepping couples too: Hyper+' / Hyper+/ moves every display at the same time, each one step along its own workspace list.

Workspace Indicator

The menu bar icon shows the workspace name or number of the display under your mouse. Named workspaces show their config name. Numbered workspaces show their 1-based index.

SketchyBar Integration

FazerWM detects SketchyBar at startup: tiled windows respect the bar height, and SketchyBar shows one item per workspace. Setup, customization, and the theme file are covered on the SketchyBar page.

Command-Line Interface

fazerwmctl controls FazerWM from the terminal or scripts — focus workspaces, create new ones. Commands, options, and how it talks to the app are on the fazerwmctl page.
