Drag to Resize

Drag the left or right edge of a window to resize the column:

• CGEvent tap monitors the mouse-up events. It detects when the resize ends.
• Neighbor preservation: The adjacent columns anchor their positions. The resized column takes or releases the space.
• Width constraints: If a window has a minimum width constraint, FazerWM detects it and respects it.

Width Steps

You can also step the width of a column with shortcuts. Shrink (Hyper+LOption+-) and grow (Hyper+LOption+=) move the focused column through four fixed steps. The steps are 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% (full width) of the tiled area. Each column remembers the width that you select.

Toggle Full-Width

Press Hyper+F to toggle the focused column between its current width and the full width. The column expands to fill the whole tiled area. The other columns scroll off to the side. The previous width is saved. It is restored when you toggle back.

Remembered Widths Across Display Changes

A width you set by hand, with the keyboard steps or an edge drag, is kept as a proportion of the tiled area, not as raw pixels. That means it survives events that rebuild the layout:

• Sleep and wake: the column comes back at the width you left it, even though the wake redraws every workspace.
• Unplugging and replugging a display: the width is restored exactly when the same display returns.
• Moving to another display: move a column or a window to another monitor (keyboard move or a cross-screen drag) and the width follows it, landing at the same proportion of the new display's tiled area.
• Displays with different sizes: if the column ends up on a display whose tiled area is wider or narrower, the width rescales to the same proportion. A 75% column stays 75%.
