Drop Zones

Zone	Color	Behavior
`columnLeft`	Blue	Create a new column to the left of the target
`columnRight`	Blue	Create a new column to the right of the target
Empty screen edge	Grey	When you drop in the empty space before the first column or after the last column, a new column is made there. (This area is shown as a dashed outline.) On an empty workspace, the whole area is a drop target.
`windowTop`	Green	Insert above the target window in its column
`windowBottom`	Green	Insert below the target window in its column
`windowCenter` PRO	Purple	In tabbed columns: switch to that tab

How Drag Works

Click title bar: WindowDragMonitor records the click as a potential drag on leftMouseDown.
Drag begins: When the grabbed window moves, a translucent overlay appears over the screen. The drop targeting turns on.
Hover to target: The drop zone indicator follows the cursor. It shows only on the window or the column that you hover over. It updates live as you move the mouse. Hit the left or right edge of a column to make a new column. Hit the top or the bottom of a window to insert there. (In tabbed columns, hit the center to insert.)
Release to drop: leftMouseUp performs the drop at the current position.

Cross-Screen Drag

On a multi-display setup:

The drop overlays appear on all screens at the same time
Shared state in WindowManager coordinates the drop zones across screens
The thumbnail frames are registered for cross-screen hit testing
It works in normal mode and in overview mode

Drag a Whole Column PRO

Grab a window title bar while you hold the column-drag modifier (default Hyper+LOption). You can configure this modifier as the dragColumn bind. This drags the whole column. Every window in the column moves together. The column lands as one unit. This is the fastest way to rearrange tabbed or stacked groups with the mouse. The same modifier works inside Overview mode. It moves a whole column between workspaces or displays in one gesture.

You can also drag window thumbnails between workspaces in the Overview mode. The same drop zone system applies.
