PRO Feature

Trackpad gestures require FazerWM Pro. On the free tier all gestures are disabled: 3- and 4-finger swipes and the 2-finger overlay swipe do nothing. A free Pro trial lets you try them.

Trackpad Gestures

Swipe with 2, 3 or 4 fingers. 3/4-finger swipes require the corresponding macOS system gestures to be disabled in System Settings → Trackpad → More Gestures. 2-finger gestures require a modifier key to avoid conflicting with scrolling.

The pane opens with a short header: the finger-count rules, a live OS gesture conflict check for 3- and 4-finger swipes (green check or orange warning per finger count, plus a button that opens System Settings → Trackpad), and the overlay-swipe toggle. Below that, every bindable action is listed in four groups (General, Focus, Column, Window), mirroring the Keybinds pane. The full default bindings table is on the Trackpad Gestures concept page.

Binding a gesture

Each row has four controls:

Control	What it sets
Gesture (menu)	The motion: — (unbound), Swipe Up / Down / Left / Right, or Pinch.
Fingers (menu)	2, 3, or 4. The menu is disabled (dimmed) for Pinch, which is always 2 fingers, and for unbound rows.
Modifiers (field + Record)	A modifier chord like `lcmd` or `lshift+loption`. Record captures the chord you hold and release; holding your Hyper chord records `hyper` directly.
✕ clear	Unbinds the action.

Together these serialize to a gesture descriptor in the config, either [modifiers+]fingers-direction or [modifiers+]pinch:

2-finger swipe in overlays

One binding is special enough to get its own toggle at the top: when enabled, a plain 2-finger swipe (no modifier) navigates the Overview and Recent Windows overlays, the same as pressing the arrow keys. It can't conflict with scrolling because it only responds while an overlay is open. Config key: gestures.overlaySwipe.

OS conflict detection

macOS owns 3- and 4-finger swipes for Mission Control, Spotlight, and desktop switching. The pane checks their status on open and shows per-finger-count results:

✅ Available: the system gesture is off (or was never enabled); FazerWM's swipe works.
⚠️ Conflict: a system gesture still owns that finger count; FazerWM suppresses it until you disable the system gesture. The Open System Settings → Trackpad button takes you straight there.

The Configure Trackpad Gestures step of the First Launch wizard performs the same check during setup.
